What is remote access?
When a user across a network even a really big public network like the internet uses their computer to access and control another computer, this allows a Technician the ability to repair a computer that he or she is too far away to access normally or it would just be faster and more efficient to remotely in and control it, which gives the remote user nearly all the same ability’s as sitting in front of the machine, some programs that are used to create a secure connection between two computers include Team Viewer, PC Anywhere and VNC.
What is telephone support?
This is when a customer calls by telephone a helpdesk number and talks their problem over with a technician who will respond with some possible causes and solutions that they will instruct the customer on what they need to do step by step instructions to rectify the issues they are having with their computer.
What is a Email Signature, Screen Resolution, Database and Update?
Email Signature
A email signature is the text at the footer / bottom of a email and is always automatically added when you create a new email, to add one in Microsoft Outlook 2003 – Open Outlook and go to Tools then down to options, on the new window that appears go to the tab Mail Format and Click on to Signatures to Create one or Outlook 2010 go to File then options then in the new window on the left select Mail then click Signatures.
Screen Resolutions
This is a setting for how many pixels the computer is going to use to display the screen image, the lower the resolution the bigger and blockier the screen image becomes or the higher the screen resolution the smaller everything becomes but more detailed for instance before HD (High Definition) was around Television screen image resolution was around 756 X 512 pixels then HD come out and improved the detail with higher resolution giving better image definition of around 1280 X 960, most computers people use around 1024 X 768 to 1600 X 900 but it’s down to hardware capabilities and personal preference.
Database
A database is a piece of server software that sometimes demands a complete or even multi servers to store large amounts of data, which it the makes this data available to many computers and users. This is for the software on the computers also known as clients to display, add, amend requested information from the database in a multiuser environment, like for example some accounting software requires a database to help fulfil its multi user environment requirements. Here are a some of the more common database programs Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Updates
Updates are the manufactures / developers of the program releasing repaired / updated code that fixes a previous unidentified problem, some updates are for security purposes and others can be for functionality improvements or even stability issues to name a couple of possibilities but it is recommended that updates are applied especially to the Operating Systems.
There’s a problem with My Computer what should I do?
First and foremost are you going to try to fix it yourself and are you capable? If you decide the answer is yes then you will need to identify the issue and probably use another computer to research answers on the internet, if it’s a virus related problem you may find our page on PC Repair article on what should I do if my computer has got a virus, this has a link to a good online scanner that may help. But if the answers no then you can call on a IT Support company if you believe it’s not hardware failure or PC Repair otherwise might be a better solution.
What is onsite support?
This is when you have a computer engineer / technician turn up onsite for a pre booked appointment to either solve, repair or replace IT equipment.

IT Support Warranty
We fix and repair problems but due to the nature of computer operating systems we cannot offer a warranty on support repairs as so many factors from third party software, internet installs and general user modification of settings can cause issues that had been fixed.

Business and home firewalls are not normally a problem our software works around them.
